John Harbaugh Focused On Packers Game Than Future At Ravens

John Harbaugh is fully focused on Saturday’s game against the Green Bay Packers than his future at the Baltimore Ravens.

John Harbaugh woke up, looked at the schedule, and chose peace. While fans and talking heads are busy debating his job security, the Ravens coach says he’s focused on one thing and one thing only. The Green Bay Packers. Not his contract. Not hot seats. Just cheeseheads and football.

If you’re coaching scared, you’re already losing. And if you’re checking job boards during the season, you’re definitely doing it wrong.

“I try to do the job, not try to keep the job,” Harbaugh said. “My focus has been for the last 18 years here and the last 41 years in coaching is to try to do the best job I can today and fight as hard as I can so the guys have the best chance to be successful today. And anything after today, I’m not thinking about because it’s not given for us to think about.”

Harbaugh added, “We don’t have control over that, except for the job we do today. And if we do a good enough job today, then the opportunity to do that job or a different job will be there tomorrow. And that’s what you hope for.”

In the end, John Harbaugh isn’t coaching for his job. At least not out loud. He’s coaching for the next win. Because in the NFL, winning solves everything. Lose, and the questions get louder. Win, and suddenly everyone relaxes.

So yes, he’s focused on the Packers. And for now, that’s the safest answer in football. The future will take care of itself.
