Brya Hardy Arrested For Using Fake Child To Scam Boyfriend $7k In Child Support Payment

Brya Hardy is in legal mess for scamming her boyfriend out of $7k in child support payment over a child that’s not hers.

Some scams are complicated. This one was not. Brya Hardy allegedly decided that honesty was optional and creativity was required. According to police, she convinced her boyfriend to hand over $7k in child support money. There was just one small problem, the child in question was not hers.

Authorities say Hardy claimed the money was for a child she needed to support. The boyfriend, trying to do the right thing, reportedly paid up. No lawyers, no court papers, just trust and a very expensive lesson.

According to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in early December 2025 when the victim contacted the Criminal Investigations Unit to report a suspected scam. Investigators determined the victim had sent more than $7,000 to 18-year-old Brya Hardy of Newnan after she asked for financial support for a child she claimed they had together.

Authorities said the victim and Hardy had been in a relationship several years earlier. During that time, investigators say Hardy sent the victim photographs of a child she alleged was his.

Women are capable of doing the extreme but this is definitely top of most of the extreme things women are capable of doing.

Following a thorough investigation, deputies determined the child was neither Hardy’s nor the victim’s, the sheriff’s office said.

As a result, arrest warrants were obtained charging Hardy with theft by deception. She was taken into custody on Dec. 31, 2025.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

This story reminds everyone that lying about children is not just messy. It is illegal, very illegal. Courts do not laugh at these things. Police do not scroll past them and judges do not care how confident you looked when asking for the money.

In the end, Brya Hardy turned a relationship into a criminal case. She lost her freedom, she lost her credibility and she gained a charge that will not disappear anytime soon.

The lesson here is simple. If someone asks you for child support money, ask questions. Ask for proof, ask for documents and maybe ask yourself why you are paying child support for a child you have never met.
