Gervonta “Tank” Davis Arrested After Being on the Run For Two Weeks

Boxing fans woke up to another episode of “Fame Meets Consequences”, starring WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. This time, the punches weren’t in the ring, they were legal.

Davis was arrested over an alleged domestic incident after a two-week search. Yes, two weeks. That’s not “missed a call” long. That’s “actively avoiding the situation” long. Authorities eventually caught up with him in Miami’s Design District.

Now here’s the part that made the internet pause mid-scroll. Reports suggest U.S. Marshals may have used his Instagram activity to help track him which is honestly the most 2026 sentence imaginable. Forget fingerprints, forget wiretaps, just check the stories.

Nothing says “laying low” like posting online.

Officers in Miami have been working with the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force over the past two weeks to ascertain Davis’ whereabouts.

In a statement earlier in January, police in Miami said Davis, 31, allegedly “grabbed” the victim “by the back of her hair with one hand and by her throat with the other”, before “forcefully” trying to move her.

“Lead detective Gary Florencio obtained and viewed video surveillance footage that co-operates key elements of the victim’s statement,” the statement read.

Davis is also facing a civil lawsuit filed by former girlfriend Courtney Rossel in October.

The lawsuit accused Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Rossel is also seeking compensatory and punitive damages “of over $50,000” (£38,100) and has requested a jury trial.

For now, Davis’ future sits in limbo. Legal proceedings will continue, promoters will wait, fans will argue and the internet will absolutely not forget.

One lesson stands tall, you can dodge punches in the ring, you can’t dodge accountability online, especially when your phone keeps checking in for you.

Stay tuned, and maybe log off.
