New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart may have given fans an early clue in the team’s head coaching search. A brief sideline exchange during a college football game quickly grabbed attention online and fueled speculation.
Cameras caught Dart speaking with an Ole Miss staffer while waiting out a break in action. During the chat, Dart appeared to reference possible names tied to the Giants’ head coaching vacancy. Fans quickly shared the clip across social media, turning a casual moment into a full-blown debate.
He reportedly said, “I don’t know… Harbaugh or Stefanski… but I don’t know.”

Both John Harbaugh and Kevin Stefanski are widely viewed as top candidates for New York’s open head coach job. Harbaugh, recently let go by the Baltimore Ravens after 18 seasons, has a strong track record, including a Super Bowl title. Stefanski, the former Cleveland Browns coach and two-time Coach of the Year, has already interviewed with the Giants.
The Giants fired Brian Daboll after a disappointing 4–13 season. General manager Joe Schoen is leading the search and has said the team wants a leader who can connect with players like Dart while pushing the franchise forward.
