Aaron Rodgers stood up for Mike Tomlin after the Pittsburgh Steelers’ season came to an end in the Wild Card Round on Monday, calling it an “absolute joke” to consider the possibility of him being fired.
Rodgers spoke with the media following the Steelers’ 30-6 defeat against the Houston Texans, and despite it being Steel City’s seventh consecutive playoff loss, he struggles to understand the speculation about Tomlin’s job security.
He expressed his support not only for his current head coach but also for Matt LaFleur, whose position has been questioned after the Green Bay Packers’ unexpected defeat to the Chicago Bears on Saturday.
When asked about his message to fans after the loss, Tomlin responded, “Words are cheap.”
“It’s about what actions you take or fail to take.”
A major concern for fans following this game is whether it marked the final game of Rodgers’ career. Unfortunately, he did not offer any clarity on his thoughts, stating he would take time to reflect on his options.
