Rui Hachimura has officially had enough of the internet. The Lakers forward has shut down rumors that he is romantically involved with pop superstar Doja Cat. Yes, the one who breaks charts, breaks fashion rules, and apparently now breaks NBA Twitter brains.
The rumor mill started the usual way. A few likes here, and a few comments there. Some fans connected dots that did not exist. Suddenly, Rui was no longer just a solid role player for the Lakers. He was now Mr. Doja Cat. Social media ran with it like it was Game 7 of the Finals.
Rui, however, was not amused. He made it clear that there is no romance, no secret dates, no hidden love story and no late-night FaceTime calls about album rollouts or pick-and-roll defense. Just a hard “no” with a “fuk”! Simple, clean, and direct. The internet did not like that answer, but facts rarely go viral.
A satire Instagram account known as Durant shared a post on Wednesday (Jan. 28) claiming Hachimura and Doja Cat are dating amid rumors of her being linked to an unknown NBA player. Hachimura shut down speculation of a romance in the comments, writing, “Mann fuk no😂”
Us Weekly reported Hachimura has been linked to Briana Delgado, a fitness influencer based in Los Angeles, since 2021. However, it cannot be confirmed that they are still in a relationship.
Doja Cat was rumored to be dating actor Joseph Quinn in Aug. 2024 after the two were seen together at a concert and holding hands while walking down a street in London. Their alleged romance came two years after Noah Schnapp shared DMs he exchanged with the Grammy winner, who asked him to set her up with his Stranger Things co-star.
In a Sept. 2025 interview with the New York Times, Doja seemingly implied that she and Quinn were no longer together, saying she’s “just having fun” and “allowing things to happen.”
At the end of the day, Rui wants to hoop, he wants wins, he wants consistency and he probably does not want to answer questions about imaginary relationships.
Rui Hachimura is single, focused, and still very much employed by the Los Angeles Lakers. Romance rumors? Blocked. Season goals? Still loading.
