Cheerleader Mom, Tawnia McGeehan ‘Spiraled’ Following ‘Mean’ Texts Prior to Suicide-Murder Attempt

The latest story claims that Tawnia McGeehan, who is accused of killing her 11-year-old daughter Addi Smith in an apparent murder-suicide, was harassed by “mean” texts from other parents on her daughter’s cheerleading squad.

The New York Post reports that Tawnia’s mother, Connie, thinks her daughter had a brewing argument with some of the other mothers on the squad.

Connie stated to The Post:

Tawnia and another cheer mom recently got into a furious “confrontation” in the squad waiting area, according to another person who spoke to The Post.

Following the conclusion of a nine-year custody dispute for Add, Connie said that Tawnia’s longtime battle with depression was starting to improve.

In 2024, Addi’s legal and physical custody was granted to Tawnia and her ex-husband Bradley Smith, with one week on and one week off.

Tawnia and Addi came from Utah to Las Vegas for a cheer competition, but they never showed up, as we previously reported. According to police, Tawnia fired Before shooting herself, Addi was at the Rio Hotel & Casino late on Saturday, February 14.
