There is never a dull moment with the Deontay Wilder. The man has fists of steel, a record that demands respect, and apparently zero tolerance for certain interview questions. Case in point: his latest media meltdown.
It all went down during an interview. Wilder was sitting there, calm, fielding the usual questions. Then it happened, a question about Tyson Fury came up and just his name, he’ll broke lose!
Before anyone could even blink, Wilder’s eyes narrowed. A few sharp words flew at the reporter, sharp enough to sting without breaking a rule, and then, just like that, he walked off. No warning, no slow exit. Full-on, angry departure. Cameras rolling, microphones still live. A perfect meltdown material.
“I don’t want to talk about him,” Wilder said. “We’re here about Derek Chisora. We’re not going to talk about him. Understand that.”
Jordan continued pressing the issue, prompting a sharp response from Wilder. “Because I know the truth,” Wilder shouted. “I have the facts. Understand that.”
The former WBC heavyweight champion then stood up from his seat and stepped toward Jordan. Security personnel intervened before the confrontation escalated further. Chisora remained seated and did not engage during the exchange.
“I don’t give a f— about that,” Wilder yelled. “I said we didn’t want to bring him up. It ain’t got s— to do with him.”
The funniest part? Wilder didn’t just leave quietly, he left with attitude, making sure everyone knew he wasn’t just walking away. He was making a statement. And the statement was: Tyson Fury? Not today, not in this room and not ever!
Deontay Wilder’s temper is real. His loyalty to his own peace of mind is even realer and asking him about Tyson Fury is basically asking to be verbally shredded on live camera.
Love him or fear him, Wilder keeps things entertaining, interviews will never be the same and reporters? They’ll think twice before saying “Fury” again.
