Cooper Flagg Will Miss Time Due to an Injury

Cooper Flagg is having an unforgettable rookie campaign. Halfway through his first season, the No. 1 choice in the 2025 NBA draft has already proven himself deserving of the title by establishing himself as a proven bucket-getter in the professional ranks.

Unfortunately, the Mavericks stated on Wednesday that an MRI had found a sprain in the forward’s left foot, meaning that NBA fans will not be able to enjoy Flagg’s amazing rookie season as planned this weekend.

Due to the injury, Flagg is expected to miss both the Rising Stars game on Friday night as part of All-Star weekend and Dallas’s game against the Lakers on Thursday night.

Flagg’s explosive start to his career has given Dallas fans hope following the departure of star guard Luka Dončić, so it’s a shame that fans at All-Star weekend won’t get to see him play.

That being said, in terms of the timing of a possible injury, Flagg is likely to have a good break as it allows him to recuperate for more than a week while only missing one game—that is, if he is able to return to the court when the Mavericks play the Timberwolves in Minnesota on Friday.
