The Hall of Fame does not include Robert Kraft. The Hall of Fame voting committee views Kraft as simply another civilian, regardless of how many Super Bowls his club has won or how many scandals they have avoided.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kraft was a finalist this year for the first time in more than ten years of eligibility, but he did not receive enough votes to win his gold jacket. Kraft’s name will not be on the roster when the Hall of Fame Class of 2026 is revealed on Thursday night.
Last week, it came as a surprise when Kraft moved on and longtime coach Bill Belichick was not named a finalist. The fact that one of the greatest football coaches in history was not a first ballot Hall of Famer confused many. Now that Kraft has been turned away once more, it appears that there may be prejudice against New England.
Naturally, we may also learn in the coming days that any voter who did not choose Kraft has plausible deniability due to the way the voting process is set up.
The owner of the Patriots has spent years advocating for a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
