Draymond Green Celebrates Being Name-dropped In Blackpink K-pop Song

When you think of K-pop and the NBA, you probably don’t picture them sharing the same sentence. But here we are. Draymond Green is celebrating after getting name-dropped in a song by Blackpink.

Yes, Blackpink. Global charts, stadium tours, fashion week front rows, and now, apparently, NBA shoutouts.

Draymond did not take this lightly, not at all. He said he’s honored and that he’s a big deal in the NBA. Subtle flex? Absolutely not. This was a full-court press of confidence.

K-pop group Blackpink recently released a new EP titled “Deadline.” On the track “Me and My,” they mentioned Green in one of the verses: “Golden like we Draymond, they pay us for a walk-in.”

Well, Green definitely liked that. Can’t kill the love.

“You get name-dropped in a rap song, it’s pretty fun. When you get name-dropped in a K-pop song, you may be a pretty big deal,” said the 31-year-old forward, as quoted by the Bay Area News Group.

Just in case you’re still stuck in the emo phase, Blackpink has grown into one of the biggest musical acts in the world. The K-pop sensation has sold 8.5 million albums. We’re not really good at math, but that’s a lot.

In the end, Draymond is celebrating like he just won another ring, except this time, the trophy is a lyric.

And honestly? He might be right.

If your name is catchy enough to slide into a global pop anthem, you’re doing something right.

Defense wins championships, but apparently, K-pop wins bragging rights.
