Francis Ngannou Gets Back in MMA But This MVP and Jake Paul

Francis Ngannou has already secured an MMA match. The former UFC heavyweight champion has been added to the Ronda Rousey-Gina Carano Netflix event!

Ngannou will face Philipe Lins in a five-round bout on May 16, according to the statement made Monday morning by Most Valuable Promotions—Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian’s company.

For those who don’t know, Lins has an 18-5 professional mixed martial arts record, with four of his victories coming from the UFC. Along the way, he also stopped at Bellator and the PFL, where he won the $1 million competition in 2018.

Both fighters will be returning from protracted layoffs. In their most recent bout, which took place in October 2024, Ngannou defeated Renan Ferreira and prevented the Brazilian from winning the PFL Heavyweight Superfight Championship. Francis’s sole conflict with the promotion was this one.

Lins defeated Ion Cutelaba via majority decision at UFC 299 in March 2024. Francis has already gotten into a brawl, which is not surprising. On Friday, he informed us that he was working on something and wouldn’t be gone for very long.

In May, the 39-year-old will participate in a historic card on Netflix, where Rousey will face Carano in the streaming behemoth’s first-ever mixed martial arts card, after a ten-year layoff.
