Meet Jordan Alexis Semien, 27, who recently made headlines after turning what should have been a quiet Monday into something that sounded more like a scene from an action movie.
According to police, Semien violated a protection order her ex-boyfriend had against her. And not for the first time either, not the second time. The third time.
At this point the situation was already waving several giant red flags.
Authorities say things escalated when Semien spotted her ex-boyfriend driving down the street. Instead of doing what most people do during a breakup, like ignoring them or dramatically blocking them on social media, she decided to chase him in her car.
The chase reportedly turned into a chaotic situation on the road. Police say the ex-boyfriend tried to get away but ended up crashing into a stop sign. His car spun out in the street during the incident.
Her ex-boyfriend, who was not identified, returned to his Cheyanne home in Wyoming on Monday to find Semien blocking him in the apartment parking lot, an affidavit, viewed by Cowboy State Daily, said.
He was able to get his car around her and left the area, but Semien allegedly followed him down East 12th Street.
She crashed her car into his, forcing him to hit a stop sign, before the mother-of-two allegedly got out of the car and began banging on his window and attempted to get into the vehicle, the affidavit said.
Her ex-boyfriend began speeding off again as he feared his window would break, traveling down Madison Avenue. She followed him again.
There are a lot of crazy people out there so before you jump into relationship with anyone, make sure you do a little background checks on them.
She hit him again on the other side of the vehicle, causing him to spin out, police said.
Semien then fled the scene, but eventually came back. By the time police arrived, the mother-of-two was arguing with someone in the street. It is unclear if it was the ex-boyfriend.
After noticing officers approaching, the 27-year-old attempted to flee again.
She later told police she didn’t know it was her ex-boyfriend in the car and that they had both been driving recklessly. She allegedly admitted to hitting his vehicle in the intersection.
Semien faces aggravated assault and battery charges, violating a protection order, and reckless driving, Cowboy State Daily reported.
Still, the situation is now another example of how breakups can spiral completely out of control when emotions take over.
One minute it’s a relationship problem, the next minute it’s a police report.
And in this case, a crashed stop sign and a very awkward conversation with officers.
