Two women who share children with Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards have joined forces in a long-running child support dispute, filing new evidence in a California court to argue jurisdiction belongs in Los Angeles rather than Georgia.
Ayesha Howard, mother of Edwards’ daughter Aubri born in 2024, submitted a declaration from Alexandria Desroches — mother of Edwards’ son Amir — in Los Angeles County Superior Court documents obtained by TMZ. Desroches stated that Edwards has been making voluntary monthly child support payments to her via wire transfers from a bank account at a Beverly Hills branch, according to the filing reported Friday.
Howard is using the declaration to establish that Edwards has sufficient business and financial ties to California for the court to set child support in her case. Edwards has argued the matter should be handled in Georgia, where child support guidelines are generally lower.
The legal battle between Howard and Edwards has stretched for more than a year. A California judge previously ruled the state lacked jurisdiction. A Georgia judge later determined the case belonged there and ordered Howard to pay some of Edwards’ legal fees.
Edwards’ attorneys have asked the court to seal the case and restrict Howard from filing what they call “meritless and harassing” additional motions. In court papers, one lawyer described the filings as “a campaign of harassment, obstruction and extortion that has made a mockery of the court systems in two states.”
“In my decade of practicing law, I have never encountered a litigant who has so flagrantly and repeatedly abused the judicial process,” the lawyer wrote.
Edwards, 24, has not publicly commented on the latest filings. He has three children from three different relationships, according to public reports. The NBA guard, a rising star known for his playmaking and scoring, was drafted first overall by Minnesota in 2020 out of Georgia.
Howard first petitioned for child support in California in 2024. Edwards filed a separate paternity and child support petition in Georgia that same year. The women have not commented publicly on the new filing.
The case remains active in both states as the parties continue to fight over where child support should be determined.
