Dacoda Jones’ $1M Lawsuit Against Rashee Rice Continues Despite Being Cleared By The NFL

Just because the NFL says “we’re done here” doesn’t mean everyone else is packing up and going home. Just ask Rashee Rice, who is still dealing with a $1 million lawsuit from Dacoda Jones, because apparently, closure is not a group activity.

So here’s the situation. The NFL did its investigation into the abuse allegations and basically said, “Alright, we’re good.” Case closed. End of story.

According to Dacoda Jones and lawyer Ron Estefan, just because the league wrapped things up doesn’t mean the lawsuit magically disappears. And honestly, they’re not wrong. The NFL and the courtroom are two very different arenas. One hands out fines, the other hands out much bigger problems.

Now imagine thinking you’re in the clear, only to get reminded that there’s still a million-dollar issue hanging over your head. That’s not exactly the kind of notification anyone wants to see.

The Shade Room spoke exclusively with Jones’ lawyer, Ron Estefan, who says she is still moving forward with her $1 Million lawsuit against Rice. “It’s Ms. Jones’ choice to pursue her rights through her civil lawsuit in Dallas County District Court,” Estefan said, noting that the lawsuit was filed before the NFL reached its final decision.

As previously reported, Jones filed the Texas lawsuit in February, accusing Rice of repeatedly assaulting her over 18 months between 2023 and 2025. She claims she was pregnant during many of the alleged incidents. She says Rice strangled her in December 2023, along with other alleged abusive behavior throughout their relationship in Texas and Missouri.

The lawsuit alleges Rice grabbed, choked, pushed, scratched, hit, and headbutted her, and at times struck her with objects. Jones also claims he destroyed property, punched walls, broke furniture, and locked her out of their apartment at night. She is seeking more than $1 million in damages for physical pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, and lost earnings.

As for Dacoda Jones, his camp is clearly not backing down. They’re standing firm, pushing forward, and making it clear that this isn’t over just because the league moved on.

At the end of the day, this whole situation is a reminder that “cleared” doesn’t always mean “finished.” Especially when lawyers are involved. They love a good sequel.

So while the NFL has already left the chat, the courtroom is just getting started. And unfortunately for Rashee Rice, this is one game where there’s no quick fourth-quarter comeback.
