Isiah Thomas contended that Kevin Durant would have won six titles and gone 6-0 in the NBA Finals if he had taken Michael Jordan’s place on the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.
Speaking on the Run It Back FanDuel show, Thomas asserted that Durant’s exceptional shooting and scoring ability were a perfect fit for the strategies of the time.
Thomas noted that Durant’s shooting skill would make him practically unstoppable if he were positioned in the triple-post (triangle) offense in the mid-post or elbow.

He stressed that the same championship outcomes would be achieved if Durant were paired with players like Toni Kukoč and Scottie Pippen. Some people concur that Durant’s unadulterated scoring ability would result in total dominance in any period.
Jordan’s superior leadership, durability, and playmaking against double-teams were contradicted by critics, including co-panelists on the broadcast and Reddit community forums, who claimed Durant wouldn’t have carried the team in the same manner. Thomas’s long-standing rivalry with Jordan was also mentioned by many as a possible reason for the take.
