Due to a terrible injury setback, NFL rookie Kendrick Law will not be able to make his professional debut until 2027. The wide receiver for the Detroit Lions will miss the entire next season after tearing his ACL during practice this week.
At a press conference on Thursday, head coach Dan Campbell verified the information. According to Campbell, the injury happened during training and will take a long time to heal. In the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, Law was chosen by the Lions.
Before the new season began, the rookie was thought to be a promising addition to Detroit’s offense. Last season, he made an impression at Kentucky, as he caught 53 passes for 540 yards and three scores.
Prior to that, Law attended Alabama for three seasons before moving within the SEC. His chances of having an immediate impact in the NFL have been severely damaged by his injury. In order to make up for the rookie’s absence, Detroit will now look to alternative receiving options.
Jameson Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown continue to be important targets in the Lions’ passing attack. Campbell’s wide receiver possibilities also include Greg Dortch, Cedrick Wilson, and Isaac TeSlaa.
