Lightning struck his family’s house on Tuesday, stunning a 13-year-old kid in Texas by sending an electrical current through his computer’s cabling. Deputies helped the fire department after the hit started a small attic fire before the current reached the teen, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
The occurrence occurred when isolated thunderstorms swept through the Houston region, bringing with them gusty winds, torrential rain, and frequent lightning to sections of southeast Texas.
According to officials, the teen was assessed by EMS, and an investigation is still ongoing. According to the constable’s office:
“Safety Reminder: During thunderstorms, avoid using corded electronics and stay away from electrical wiring and plumbing, as lightning can travel through a home’s electrical system,”
In a statement sent to ABC News via his mother, Vladyslav Skuridin expressed his feelings:
“a shock go through my whole body and I saw a super bright white light, then I quickly jolted back, and I was super dizzy and confused.”
“Also, I kind of just started screaming because there was a super loud boom that made my ears hurt and pop,”
