LaMelo Ball, Lonzo Ball, and LiAngelo Ball were invited to participate in the 3-on-3 league’s All-Star challenge by BIG3 co-founder and music icon Ice Cube.
In a video that was uploaded to X, Ice Cube stated:
“This summer, we got a challenge,” “We’ve got a challenge to the Ball brothers. We want all three of y’all in Charlotte for our championship game. We talking August 22nd, Charlotte. We challenged the Ball brothers, 3-on-3 BIG3 style, against our All-Stars. Let’s see what’s up, man. I’ll see you in Charlotte if you want some of this.”

There is a lot of former NBA talent in the BIG3 league; players like Dwight Howard, Greg Monroe, Jordan Crawford, Corey Brewer, and Jonathan Simmons were among the 2025 All-Stars.
Regarding the Ball brothers, LaMelo is now preparing for his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves following the All-Star point guard’s June 25 trade from the Charlotte Hornets.
After playing in 35 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers past season and averaging 4.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, Lonzo is currently a free agent.
LiAngelo, who played for the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League from 2021 to 2023, is now pursuing a career in music.
As they guided Chino Hills High School to a flawless 35-0 record and a CIF Open Division state championship in the 2015–16 season, the three brothers have a wealth of experience playing together.
