Laura Viktoria Härtig, a German influencer, reportedly died in a head-on bike accident while on her honeymoon.
According to Italian publications Trentino and il Dolomiti, Laura died from injuries she sustained 19 days prior when she collided with former Olympic skier Peter Runggaldier when they were biking on a mountain pass in Northern Italy. Laura’s Instagram profile reported her passing on Sunday.
According to sources, the collision was so severe that Laura’s bicycle broke in two, and she needed to be revived on the spot before being transported by air to a nearby hospital.
After her family moved to Germany, she apparently passed away in a hospital there.
Laura shared travel and outdoor content on her Instagram account, which has over 54,000 followers. Just two days prior to the collision, she shared a message announcing her marriage, claiming to have wed her “soulmate for life.”
Following her passing, Peter posted a statement on social media expressing his feelings to Viktoria’s family and requesting his privacy.
Laura was thirty years old.
