Jerry Jeudy, a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, is responding to a widely shared video in which he seems to express his preference for the team’s starting quarterback.
Jeudy flashes four fingers during a broadcast in the TikTok video, which many have interpreted as a reference to Deshaun Watson, who has the No. 4. The tape looks to have been altered, though, as there is a jump between Jeudy showing his fingers and the inquiry.
On Sunday, Jeudy posted to X:
“Yall cut the clip perfectly for that narrative,”

He went on to say that when Watson and Shedeur Sanders fight for the starting quarterback position for the Browns during training camp, coach Todd Monken will make the final selection.
In a different post to X, Jeudy wrote:
“I don’t speak on decisions that aren’t mine to make. I support my teammates/Brothers, I do my job, and control what I can control,”
Throughout the offseason training regimen, Watson, who is starting the last season of his five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract, and Sanders divided first-team practice repetitions. They will continue to compete during training camp.
After undergoing a second surgery in January 2025 to repair another rupture of his right Achilles, which ultimately prevented him from participating in the 2025 season, Watson, 30, is finally healthy.
As a rookie, Sanders started seven games before starting his second season.
