Alexi Lalas of Fox Sports is the most recent person to get some strays from fandom as the soccer world recovers from an ugly World Cup elimination.
The presenter of “Entertainment Tonight,” Kevin Frazier, has had enough of Lalas as USA soccer fans turn against one another in every conceivable way, criticizing the team’s World Cup performance as well as the program’s overall structure from the bottom up, including the pay-to-play model.
Regarding Lalas’ opinions of the team, Frazier stated on the “Dan Patrick Show” on Thursday:
“We gotta stop Alexi Lalas, man. What’s going on? What’s happening? Wow. Alexi, slow down, bro. Slow down,”
“You are part of the problem!”

While working with him on the Fox Sports desk, Frazier also mentioned that Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic “wanted to take him out.”
Lalas has been one of the few supporters of the present youth soccer system that has afflicted the sport in the United States. In order to participate in travel leagues, children and their parents frequently have to pay hefty fees—up to $10,000 per season at the youth level.
In the past, Lalas expressed his desire for “soccer to be free to all,” but he has questioned, “Who is going to pay for all this free soccer?”
After yet another poor run for the USMNT in the international show, Frazier arrived hot, having had enough. He disagreed with Lalas’ opinions regarding the pay-to-play model. He stated:
“Hey Kev, I’m good, but thanks for your concern. I’ve consistently said I’d love soccer to be free”.
“But who should pay for free soccer? Also, do you think those who work in youth soccer are greedy and should make less money? If so, why? Hope you’re well and I respect your passion.”
Frazier has already brought up similar issues with people who think that excessive expenses are holding down soccer in this nation.
