During Thursday’s third quarter of the Las Vegas Aces vs Indiana Fever game, two males were removed from their courtside seats at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Jackie Young, a guard for Las Vegas, inbounded the ball, gestured to spectators seated courtside, and conversed with a referee before the incident started. With 4:38 remaining in the quarter, the game was halted for a few minutes while a woman sitting in the front row immediately across from the Aces bench was led out thru a tunnel by security.
After a few minutes, two males who were sitting next to her were removed and she was helped back to her seat.
Following the game, Young informed reporters:
“He was just chirping all game”. “I let him have it, and then he just made one that was a little bit too far.”
Young declined to elaborate on what the fans said to her. Young was satisfied with the way it was handled regardless of the result. She said:
“They did the right thing”. “Obviously, we don’t want to see fans get kicked out, but at the end of the day, we’re human too. So let’s just show up to games, have fun and not take it too far.”
Chelsea Gray’s buzzer-beater 3-pointer helped Las Vegas win 86-84 in overtime.
