Finally responding to her teammate Sophie Cunningham’s contentious remarks on transgender athletes in women’s sports, Caitlin Clark is becoming combative with media.
When Caitlin was questioned about Sophie’s stance on “biological men” competing against young girls in sports, the Indiana Fever star became enraged at the reporter who dared to follow up on her lack of response.
After Sunday’s 108-100 loss to the Minnesota Lynx, Caitlin was questioned about Sophie’s position. She stated that it was above her pay grade, that it wasn’t discussed in the locker room, and that her main concern was winning WNBA games.

You can see the tension in the video as Caitlin shut him down when the reporter pressed for more. Cheryl Reeve, the coach of the Minnesota Lynx, spoke to Sophie face-to-face prior to the game while sporting a “Trans Kids Belong” jersey on the sidelines. She later discussed the significance of these kinds of exchanges in the modern world.
Even if Caitlin is the biggest star in the WNBA and has the most to lose by taking sides, she will still be questioned about her teammate.
