In response to the most recent GTA 6 leak, Rockstar Games has spoken out, describing the unapproved gameplay footage as “heartbreaking” and assuring fans that the much-anticipated game is “nearly there”
Following a week of leaks connected to the anonymous online persona known as Cyberleek, Rockstar acknowledged in a statement to fans that many players had been waiting for an update. Grand Theft Auto VI videos going viral online before the game was ready to be fully displayed was terrible, according to the company. Rockstar stated:
‘It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team,’
After years of development, the business stated that the leaks were “obviously not how we intended” for players to view the game. While offering fans a significant update—that the project is “nearly there”—Rockstar also expressed regret for the length of time it has taken to complete production and release additional information and official gameplay.
Rockstar said that the preview’s preparation had taken longer than anticipated and stated it was “very excited” for players to see it. The studio stated, “It has taken longer than we wanted to get it ready,” adding that it is committed to meeting and beyond players’ expectations.
The business advised players to hold out until the official release, acknowledging that spoilers can now impact the intended experience.
