Vanessa Bryant found a beautiful way to remember Kobe Bryant on what would have been his 48th birthday.
The late Los Angeles Lakers legend was born on August 23, 1978, in Philadelphia. So, on Sunday, Vanessa shared a lovely throwback photo of the couple as she honored the man who became one of basketball’s biggest icons.
And yes, Kobe would probably have appreciated the fact that even after all these years, his birthday still gets plenty of attention.
The photo offered fans a glimpse of Kobe and Vanessa together. It was simple, and personal. And, naturally, fans immediately filled the internet with love.
Kobe died in a helicopter crash in January 2020 alongside his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others. The tragedy shocked the sports world and left an enormous hole in the Bryant family.
Six years later, his legacy remains enormous.
Kobe spent his entire 20-year NBA career with the Lakers. That alone tells you something. In an era when players change teams faster than fans can update their jerseys, Kobe stayed in Los Angeles from start to finish. And he certainly made the most of it.
