Bill Belichick has apparently had enough of the Jordon Hudson coaching rumors.
The 74-year-old North Carolina Tar Heels head coach is pushing back after months of speculation that his 25-year-old girlfriend has been playing a much bigger role in his football career than anyone expected.
According to Belichick, that idea is simply ridiculous.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Belichick made it clear that Hudson has no official role with the North Carolina football program.
So, no, she apparently isn’t sitting in the coaches’ room drawing up plays. She isn’t calling recruits, and she isn’t deciding who gets the starting quarterback job.
At least, according to Belichick.
“The way the story was picked up was a long way from that,” he told the outlet. “Like, ‘She’s trying to be the general manager of the team,’ and it’s so ridiculous.”
According to the outlet, students from the Marching Tar Heels claimed they saw Hudson leaving football practice multiple times last year.
Additionally, Belichick reportedly asked communications staff at UNC to copy his girlfriend on his emails, which, according to the iconic coach, sparked “misunderstanding” regarding their work together.
“When I took the job here, it was December, and at that time I was doing five TV shows, the radio show, I had a book coming out,” he explained. “I had a lot of other things going on when I took the job.”
Basically, the coach wants everyone to stop turning his personal relationship into a football front-office drama.
He went on, “I sent an email when I got here and I said, ‘Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university?’ Didn’t have anything to do with the university.”
Belichick went on to claim “that was leaked [and] released as ‘Jordon’s involved in every single thing that I do and she’s copied on every email.’” He called the idea “just a flat-out lie.”
Per WSJ, when asked what Hudson’s involvement looks like, Belichick responded, “There are some things that she helps me schedule or look at. It’s not North Carolina stuff.”
A university spokesperson confirmed to the outlet that Hudson doesn’t have football “responsibilities.”
Hudson does, however, list herself as COO of Belichick Productions via LinkedIn, as well as founder of a company called Trouble Cub Enterprises, through which she applied for trademarks on catchphrases her boyfriend is known for.
Hudson’s involvement became even more talked about after she interrupted a CBS interview in 2025 when Belichick was asked about their relationship. That moment only added more fuel to the speculation.
Now Belichick has offered his version of events.
So, apparently, the clipboard remains safely in his hands.
