Florida Therapist Caught Having Sex With a Patient Under Her Care

This week, an intern therapist from Florida was taken into custody on suspicion of having sex with a patient under her care.

The 32-year-old Michelle Luchau-Rebora allegedly had sex with a 42-year-old patient and resident of New Hope CORPS in Homestead, a city roughly 40 miles south of central Miami. The man was referred to as JG in court.

According to court records obtained by WPLG, Luchau-Rebora’s purported victim was enrolled in an inpatient treatment program at New Hope CORPS, a nonprofit drug and alcohol addiction treatment center.

According to the records, the 32-year-old woman conducted treatment sessions with the 42-year-old man while she was an intern mental health therapist at the hospital.

However, it is stated that the patient and therapist would engage in sexual activity during those sessions, which is illegal in Florida.

Luchau-Rebora ‘facilitated alibis on his behalf, which granted him authority to leave the restricted facility and engage in sexual intercourse on many occasions,’ according to the authorities.

The patient allegedly had intercourse with the therapist at Jackson Memorial Hospital, her mother’s house in Key Biscayne, and her own house.

According to WPLG, Sheriff’s officers stated that Luchau-Rebora “demanded that he not tell anyone about their relationship because it will affect her ability to work as a therapist.” According to reports, the illicit love relationship occurred between June and September of 2025.
