LeBron James’s Business Partner Maverick Carter And His Ex In Legal Battle

Maverick Carter, LeBron James‘ boyhood buddy and longtime business partner, is embroiled in a contentious legal dispute with his former, Crystal Streets.

Maverick requested in court documents that the judge lower the $25K he presently gives Crystal each month as support for their 18-year-old daughter. According to the businessman, their daughter attends a full-time boarding school, which he claims he fully funds.

Because his ex lives at the boarding school, Maverick, represented by disso queen Laura Wasser, says she doesn’t spend much “meaningful” custodial time with their child.

He claims he is not attempting to evade paying for his daughter and that he “pay[s] for everything [she] needs directly.” He wants the monthly child support to be reduced to $0.

Additionally, Maverick noted that their daughter turned eighteen in July and asserted that the court had no jurisdiction over her custody at that time.

In response, Crystal stated that Maverick should continue to provide support till their daughter completes her education because he is worth more than $100 million. She even requested an increase of $35K per month. She argues that even though they had agreed to the larger sum back in 2024, the California wildfires prevented it from being finalized.
