George Lombard Jr. has been making headlines on the baseball field. Now, the Yankees rookie shortstop is getting some attention for what is happening off the field.
Lombard Jr. is reportedly in a romantic relationship with Jackie Taylor, the daughter of the late NFL star Sean Taylor. And judging by the Instagram evidence, this is not exactly a secret relationship.
The pair have reportedly been dating since at least January 2025. So, while fans may have only recently noticed, these two have apparently been enjoying their relationship for quite some time.
Lombard Jr. even shared a carousel of photos on Instagram that included a very cozy moment with Taylor. The two were seen hugging while watching the sunset near the ocean.
Apparently watching a sunset alone is no longer enough. You need a romantic partner, perfect scenery, and an Instagram carousel to make it official.
One snapshot showed the pair on a paddle board together in the water.
Lombard sported a sweatshirt with Jackie’s image on the back while supporting her at a UNC volleyball game in another photo.
She added the photos to a highlight reel on her Instagram, titled, “My people” — which included an image of the pair celebrating Valentine’s Day in 2025.
“I love you,” Taylor wrote.
Lombard Jr. is one of the Yankees’ top prospects and has plenty of attention on him already. Being connected to one of the most recognizable baseball organizations in the world comes with a spotlight.
Adding a high-profile relationship to the mix only makes that spotlight brighter.
They attended an event for the Sean Taylor Legacy Project when the Washington Commanders faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game in January 2025.
The couple were tagged in the image with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian while at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Jackie leads The Sean Taylor Legacy Project, which honors her father, who died in November 2007 after being shot during a robbery attempt at his Florida home. He was 24.
She has stayed close with the Washington Commanders franchise after her father’s death.
At this point, the only thing missing was someone holding a giant sign saying, “Yes, we’re dating.”
Other social media posts suggest that Lombard and Taylor might’ve gotten together in 2024. Both went to Gulliver Prep High School in Miami.
Her highlight also featured posts congratulating him on various career accomplishments in 2025, such as his Yankees promotion from High-A Hudson Valley to Double-A Somerset at age 19 that May.
“No one more deserving! So proud of you!” she wrote, including a red heart emoji.
For Lombard Jr., though, the timing is interesting. He is entering an exciting stage of his baseball career while apparently enjoying a serious relationship away from the diamond.
