It seems like Doc Rivers intends on staying around for the Boston Celtics reclamation project.
According to a report courtesy A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge put all doubts to rest on Thursday.
A league source confirmed an earlier report by the Boston Globe that Rivers would in fact return to the sidelines for the Celtics next season.
“We’ve got a coach everybody would love to have,” Ainge told the Globe.
Rivers is entering the third season of after signing a 5-year $35 million contract in 2011. Now that the Celtics know who their coach will be, they’ll focus their attention on figuring out what to do with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.
