The UFC obviously has a pretty specific model for their women’s division; sign the prettiest and baddest women fighters in the world.
The success of UFC champ Ronda Rousey is obviously based on her skills in the octagon but her appeal outside of the ring is what catapulted the UFC’s newest division. The newest addition to the UFC’s women’s bantamweight division, Alexis Davis, fits that very criteria.
Her 13-5 record isn’t indicative of her fighting potential. She is a fighter that has gotten better in each of her last 5 fights and her fight against Sara Kaufman in 2012 is one of the best female fights this decade.
Alexis cares about her fans and cares about putting on quality matches. That is exactly the type of fighter the UFC is looking to turn into a star. Her cute smile and incredible body only add to her marketability.
On Saturday she’ll have the opportunity to show everyone that her skills are on par with her looks when she faces Rosi Sexton at UFC 161.
