Well that was brief. Manny Ramirez has been cut by the Rangers. Manny spent just 30 games with the Triple-A affiliate Round Rock. He hit a paltry .259/.328/.370 in 119 plate appearances.
“Based on our evaluation, there was not a spot for Manny on the club at this time,” Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said. “We released him so he could pursue other opportunities if he so chooses.”
I don’t know if age or not getting those Balco shipments anymore that did him in, but it might be time for one of the best right handed hitter of my generation to hang up the cleats.
