Three years after the Vikings thought Christian Ponder was their franchise savior, the regime has drafted another quarterback they hope can save Adrian Peterson.
With Ponder and Matt Cassel still on the roster, the Vikings don’t have to throw Bridgewater to the wolves. That said, Vikings rookie head coach Mike Zimmer won’t throw Bridgewater into the starting lineup until he’s proven he’s ready.
“Teddy will play when we feel like he’s ready, if he’s the best guy, which we hope that he will be,” Zimmer said, via StarTribune.com. “We always want to have competition.”
