When the news that Tony Romo would restructure his contract to save the Cowboys $13 million was released, many didn’t understand why Romo didn’t agree to do this before the Cowboys loss Demarco Murray to the Eagles including Murray himself.

Murray and Romo were good friends and he would have had no issue redoing his deal to keep Murray but the bottom line is that the decision wasn’t up to him. The Cowboys simply had no intention of paying Murray more than what was offered and intend on using this money elsewhere.
Hopefully on a new secondary.
