The man who shipped guns to former New England Patriots player and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez has been sentenced to two years in federal prison.
Oscar Hernandez had pleaded guilty to charges including gun conspiracy and lying to a grand jury. He isn’t related to Aaron.
His public defender had sought a one-year sentence — or about as long he’s been in custody. But the judge Tuesday sided with prosecutors seeking a harsher sentence.
Oscar Hernandez shipped several guns from Florida to Aaron Hernandez in Massachusetts before the then-tight end killed a man in 2013. He didn’t supply the murder weapon.
