Shaquille O’Neal is taking over the White House IG page to promote the importance of mentoring and giving back to others.
whitehouseOh hey, guys. It’s @Shaq. I’m taking over the White House Instagram today to talk about something close to my heart – the importance of mentorship. Nobody makes it on their own. Everybody needs someone to have their back. For me, that mentor is my Uncle Mike Parris. He is, without a doubt, the reason I have become the man I am today. Follow along and I’ll tell you more about how he helped me succeed. #MyBrothersKeeper #TPTAssist
whitehouseWhen I was a little kid (or maybe just a kid, ’cause I was never little), my Uncle Mike worked at a sporting goods store in Newark. I spent a lot of my time there, stocking shelves and doing anything I could to earn enough money to buy my prized Dr. J sneakers. Uncle Mike and I both knew he could have just pulled them out of the stock room and handed them to me, but he wasn’t about that. He made me earn every penny. Take it from the Big Fellah, if you want to succeed at what you do, you gotta work hard. Like my Uncle always says, the best things in life are earned. Check out the @PlayersTribune for more on me and my Uncle Mike. #MyBrothersKeeper #TPTAssist
