The QB carousel is in full effect right now in Denver. One name I never thought would have came up to fill that vacancy is Jake ‘The Snake’ Plummer. Quote from Fox Sports:
“I’m 41 and the Broncos need a new quarterback,” Plummer recently told co-host Zig Fracassi and me on SiriusXM NFL Radio that. “I’m not thinking about it but the thought crossed my mind because my body feels great after playing for 10 years in the league and being retired. I owe a lot of that to CBD and what it’s done for me.”
Plummer says he doesn’t support weed for fun, but rather the medicinal benefits of Cannabidiol- or CBD. The non-psychoactive part of marijuana that has significant medical benefits. So basically, the part that doesn’t get you high. Plummer had interesting thoughts on what he would like to see happen in the NFL.
“We’re not saying that players should be allowed to smoke marijuana,” he said. “But if we could get the NFL to maybe help with the funding of this research testing former and current players who use CBD … I feel like with what this has done for me that it’s a wonder medicine.”
It’s not just him that’s standing up for it either. Current Baltimore Ravens tackle Eugene Monroe voiced his support of CBD in the NFL.
If 100 players gave 1,000 for research. Or 200 gave 500, We can get Realm of Carings initiative in conjunction with John Hopkins U started

I'm putting a $10,000 dent in it myself

I agree with Plummer’s comments only to an extent, because I believe painting a line between recreational and medicinal is the wrong thing to do with marijuana. If this is the direction we are moving in, let’s not leave people behind because their use of it isn’t what you would do it. It’s casting the same judgement we are working to get rid of.
