NBA legend Charles Barkley knows exactly what the NBA should do in response to North Carolina’s anti LGBT law. Move the 2017 All-Star Game out of the state. In an interview with CNN Barkley made his feelings clear, saying:
I think the NBA should move the All-Star game from there next year. As a black person I’m against any form of discrimination, against whites, Hispanics, gays, lesbians, however you want to phrase it. It’s my job, with the position of power that I’m in and being able to be on television, I’m supposed to stand up for the people who can’t stand up for themselves. So I think the NBA should move the All-Star game from Charlotte.
Chuck has never been one to shy away from “hot” topics. If he has something to say he says it. This one is a no brainer, Chuck has always made it clear where he stands as it relates to injustice. In an age where public figures are so guarded, that is the quality that has kept him engaging and relevant well beyond his playing days.
