Thoughts and prayers go out to the Fuller family.
The Boone Police Department state in a news release, Appalachian State linebacker Teh’Ron Fuller was involved in a fight and suffered a stab wound early Wednesday in the parking lot of an off-campus apartment complex.
Officers responded a little before 2:30 a.m. to a report of a fight involving several people at 219 Crossing Way, about a mile south of the Appalachian State campus. After arriving at the scene, officers were notified by Watauga Medical Center that Fuller, 21, had been brought to the emergency department suffering from a stab wound.
Listed in good condition, Fuller was admitted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem a hospital spokesperson said. Police said detectives are interviewing witnesses and processing the crime scene.
“It appears this incident started as an altercation outside a local bar,” police said in the release. “Later a fight involving multiple parties occurred in the parking lot of 219 Crossing Way.”
In a school-issued statement football coach Scott Satterfield said
“Our thoughts are with Teh’Ron and his family, we are thankful for all the medical and support staff that are making sure he is being cared for. Our program and athletic department will continue to support Teh’Ron and his family any way we can during this difficult time.”
Nothing has been released as to who else was involved in the incident.
