One of the biggest days of your life is quickly ruined because of construction. A couple in Kansas are experiencing something that might cause laughter but it’s really not funny. As he was proposing, the ring fell through the crack of the bridge.
For those of you who want to get married, you have an idea as to how you want to propose or want to get proposed to. Is it extravagant? Or is it an intimate setting? Regardless of what you decide to do, please make sure to canvas the area for any cracks so this doesn’t happen to you.
Seth Dixon and Ruth Salas are going through something that you wouldn’t want to wish on anybody, well, maybe someone you really dislike perhaps. As Dixon was proposing, the ring somehow fell through the crack of the bridge and their reactions are just priceless. It feels like something out of an episode of Seinfeld. The ring is worth $3,000 so there goes that.
“It’s absolutely real. I wish it wasn’t,” Dixon said on Monday. He works as an Uber driver in Warrensburg.
“We freaked out,” said Salas, a substitute teacher for the Liberty School District. “It ping-ponged from one plank to another. You could hear a little plop.”
Seriously?
“It is real. It happened,” said Maddie Villareal of Independence, who has known Dixon for 17 years, Salas for five, through Lifegate Church in Independence. She was there, videoing the proposal on her cellphone.
People jumped into that swamp water to help look for the ring. Dixon even hired someone off Craigslist with a metal detector and still no luck.
There was a GoFundMe page set up but since then, the campaign has closed and raised $261. The lesson today here folks is say no to crack.
