Aldon Smith was more than just drunk during his last arrest; he was near death.
Reports coming from The San Francisco Chronicle confirms that the former NFL linebacker had a blood alcohol level so high that it was life threatening and “could put you in a coma”. Smith was arrested for violating conditions of his electronic monitoring last week and had a blood alcohol content of .40.
Per the BAC Calculator, a range of 0.35% to 0.40% is considered fatal alcohol poisoning.
Smith was a dominant linebacker until his run ins with the law.
It started back in 2012 when he was arrested for DUI in Miami. A few months after that, he was charged with three felony counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon related to a stabbing incident he was injured in. In 2013, he was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana after a car crash. He then entered to rehab to come out in 2014 and get arrested for an incident at the LA International Airport. Reports claim he told the TSA agent he had a bomb. In 2015, he was involved in a hit and run after DUI and vandalism charges. The 49ers had enough , released him and was picked up by the Raiders. In 2017, he was arrested twice for DUI and has already been arrested three times this year. Raiders have released him.
Smith was the 7th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and made Pro-Bowl and First team All-Pro his first season.
