Sebastian Telfair spent 10 years in the NBA with tenures with the Trailblazers, Celtics, Timberwolves, Clippers, Cavs, Suns, Raptors, and Thunder. Since then, he’s been dealing with a gun case that could get him three and a half years in prison.
Telfair posted $500,000 bond today to get out of jail, according to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports. He was recently convicted of possessing an illegal firearm dating back to a June 2017 incident where he was caught with weapons during a traffic stop. He was facing 15 years but a judge ordered three and a half. Telfair also got major help from his girlfriend, side chick and mistress testifying in his favor in court as well.
His legal team has been appealing the sentence and is a free man for now as he has an ankle monitor. The conditions are that he’s on house arrest from 7PM-7AM, has to gave up his passports, and must stay in New York City. The process still isn’t over as Telfair could still get significant jail time.
