The Houston Astros lead the New York Yankees at 2-1 in the ALCS after their clutch 4-1 win in Game 3. Game 4 was supposed to take place today but it got rained out. Back in Game 2 though, there was some huge drama in the stands.
According to Sports Gossip, 73-year-old James Warren Dinkins, 73, was charged with assault causing bodily injury. This was all due to slapping a Yankees fan at the game in Houston. This fan’s name is Manuel Bitolas, who’s currently living in Texas. The incident went down in the ninth innning.
“He’s a big guy with long arms, so he just reached back and slapped him on the face,” said spectator Lea Menchaca. “(Dinkins) reached back and slammed him on the face, five times, like repeated five time slap,” recalled Menchaca, who says the Yankees fan was attending the game with his mother. “As soon as that happened the mom was like, ‘No you don’t touch him, what are you doing?’”
Dinkins also supposedly argues with fellow Astros fans at games a lot for some reason. He’s a season ticket holder. Hopefully, he won’t ruin the fun at Minute Maid Park if they win the ALCS and even the World Series.
