Nuggets Sack Michael Malone and GM as Decision Sends Shockwaves

The Nuggets announced their firing of general manager Calvin Booth and coach Michael Malone on social media Tuesday. Days before the NBA playoffs began, the Denver Nuggets made some incredible changes.

For the rest of the 2024–25 season, David Adelman, Malone’s longtime best assistant, will take over as interim coach.

Three games remain in Denver’s regular season. Just two seasons have passed since Malone, who departs the team as its most successful coach, guided the Nuggets to their first NBA title.

With 47-32 and a four-game losing streak, the Nuggets are now ranked fourth in the Western Conference and have had trouble staying consistent.

This is in spite of three-time MVP Nikola Jokić, a center, recording record-breaking stats. Malone coached the Nuggets for almost ten whole seasons, finishing with a 471-327 (.590) record.
