Fans wanted to know how the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder would feel about seeing his old team hoist a championship banner when it was announced that they would play the Houston Rockets and star forward Kevin Durant in the 2025–26 season opener.
Durant chose to troll the fan who posed the question on social media instead of providing a thoughtful response:
Finally. It’s been 10 years, bout time they win one lmaooo

Before he famously left to join the Golden State Warriors and win back-to-back NBA titles—still the only titles he has ever won in his storied career—Durant started his career with the Thunder.
Even with his lighthearted reaction, Durant must have been a little happy to see Oklahoma City win the championship after defeating the Indiana Pacers in seven games.
Following a remarkable regular season in which they went 68-14 and shattered the point differential record, the Thunder became the second-youngest team in NBA history to win the championship. It was the team’s first championship since the Seattle Supersonics were still in existence in 1979.
