A Former NBA Star Shares a Startling Team USA Tale

While they could say playing for your National team is generally the most proud moment in any professional sporting career  many surprisingly don’t enjoy it.

Numerous basketball talk shows are talking about Team USA as the FIBA World Cup gets began. Gilbert Arenas, a former NBA great, recently opened up on Gil’s Arena about his horrific encounter with squad USA, which caused him to leave the squad before they could cut him.

Gilbert Arenas had this to say about his Team USA stint

Arenas said : “I pulled my groin,”  “And I thought it was the same – I didn’t want that same lingering injury I had my first year in Washington, so I went to Colangelo and said, ‘Hey man, I pulled my groin, I tweaked it, I don’t know how long this is going to be lingering, so I don’t want to hold up a spot for someone who is trying to make this team.’ He hurt my feelings with his answer, he said, ‘You were on the bubble anyways, so if you gotta go home, you gotta go home.’ Bubble?… The f–k are you talking about, bubble?”

Arenas claimed that he decided to leave at that point and later gave an interview outlining the incident. Arenas found it to be shocking because he thought he was one of Team USA’s finest possibilities.

Prior to the start of the games, their management lost the two-time All-Star, indicating that they had a different opinion about their possibilities.
