MMA fighter named Joel Bauman is going viral after admitting in a live post-fight interview that he’s got herpes. According to him, he had an STD before his bout with Reese Forrest at Fury FC 61.
And the New York Post has got details on this viral interview;
After scoring the fifth victory of his professional career, the 170-pound MMA athlete became so overjoyed that he shared two interesting facts that had nothing do to with the match that just took place in the ring. The first tidbit was about his upcoming business endeavor regarding NFT ledgers, but it was Bauman’s second revelation that took the live audience by storm.
“Last fight I was tired, I was exhausted,” Bauman said. “I’m about to launch this NFT that’s going to change the fight game. And I put in 30 all-nighters before that fight, I had herpes before that fight, two outbreaks in the span of a week. I’m here, I’m healthy, let’s go, whatever. It doesn’t matter.”
Very few MMA fighters make headlines after registering their 5th victory. Now that Bauman has managed to garner the attention of millions of people, it remains to be seen what he’ll say next time, in order to keep it.
That is something that Bauman should have kept to himself. The fact that he willing pointed out that he had not one, but TWO outbreaks were the definition of TMI (too much information). If you aren’t aware once you have herpes you can’t get rid of it. You can manage it, but it never goes away, you are stuck with it for life like a bitter ex-wife.
Maybe this was his plan to go viral no pun intended, but there were definitely better ways he could have gone about it. I hope his partners knew about this before the interview was all over social media.
