In 2012, Mike Krzyzewski did something he probably hasn’t done too many times in his life. He asked a celebrity to take a picture with him because it meant that much to him. The celebrity was none other than Beyonce, and even though it’s been three years since the meeting, Coach K is still getting butterflies when he talks about it.
“After the [SI event] was over, I had to get back and [the photographers] took a photo of me, Jay Z, and LeBron,” he said during the town hall meeting. “My street cred is just bouncing high. But I didn’t get to meet [Beyoncé], so I went up and said, ‘I’m Coach K,’ and she says, ‘I just heard you speak for ten minutes. I know who you are.’ So I felt like 13, and then I asked her—something I hardly ever ask anyone to do—’Would you please take a picture with me?'”
I’m totally feeling being starstruck by Beyonce. The woman is beyond fine. I would probably do the same as Coach K. Wonder where the blessed picture hangs.
