Kevin Durant finally meets freshman-year at Texas “sweetheart” after 17 years.
Kevin Durant has faced many big moments in his life: NBA titles, MVP speeches, Twitter debates that he definitely started himself, but nothing, absolutely NOTHING prepared him for the moment he finally reunited with his supposed “freshman-year sweetheart” from his days at the University of Texas. Yes, after 17 long years, destiny finally decided to clock in and give the internet something to scream about.
Kevin Durant‘s freshman friend surprised him courtside at a recent Houston Rockets game wearing a burnt orange T-shirt that had a photo of the duo as first-year college students together on the front.
KD, not always evoking happiness, looked genuinely excited to see her, flashing a huge smile as they posed for photos together.
The friend, who’s Instagram handle has presumably her first name, Shabana, seems to live in Houston and naturally still bleeds burnt orange, with her handle caption, “HTX. howdy and hook ‘em 🤘🏽.”
As for KD, he played it cool, smiled for the photos, and acted like he isn’t going to see memes about this for the next six months.
So yes, Kevin Durant finally reunited with his freshman-year “sweetheart” after 17 years. And the internet reacted exactly how you’d expect: like it was the NBA Finals, the Grammys, and a telenovela finale all at once.
